Seymore selected in MLS SuperDraft

21 January 2015

Congratulations to PASS4Soccer's William Seymore as he is drafted by FC Dallas in the Third Round (56th Overall Pick) of the 2015 MLS SuperDraft.

William registered with PASS4Soccer on 23 August 2010 following a recommendation from his friend Jordan Alexander who PASS4Soccer placed at Fort Lewis College. Seymore attended a trial on 26 September 2010 in Swindon after initial discussions with him and his family. After being selected to join our program, William played in our US Coach Showcase in December 2010 and attracted a lot of interest from University coaches in attendance. With the help of PASS4Soccer, William accepted an offer to attend Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon.

During a stellar career, William Seymore was one of the first names on the Oregon State University Beavers Team Sheet. William played and started in 73 of the 76 games during his 4 years at OSU.

"It is an excellent achievement and testament to the high level of player PASS4Soccer Represent" said PASS4Soccer Director Daniel Gray, "Obviously William has done all of the hard work since joining Oregon State University but nothing can be taken away from the work PASS4Soccer have done at such an important time in Will's life."

“[Being drafted] is huge,” Seymore said. "It’s a big opportunity and a testament for how hard we have worked. I feel like I can speak for all the rookies; we are grateful for FC Dallas to give us this opportunity to become professional soccer players.”

Seymore realizes it will be hard to earn a place on FC Dallas’ roster.

“When we were at the combine, the players union kind of told us what it would be like being a rookie,” Seymore said. ”But it’s just little things you can pick up on by watching the veterans. So it just boils down to watching the older players and learning from them.”

As could be expected, FC Dallas has been welcoming to the rookies and is giving them every opportunity to demonstrate their talents.

“They are all really great. This is just a great environment,” Seymore said. “The guys were really friendly, and that just fosters a better atmosphere for training. I’m just trying to be an asset for the team, whether it is helping train players or actually getting minutes. I just want to make the roster first so I can help the team.”

Will is joined at FC Dallas by Jaineil Hoilett (brother of Junior Hoilett - Blackburn Rovers/Queens Park Rangers) following his selection in the MLS SuperDraft.

Good Luck Will!
