Founder joins US National Team
PASS4Soccer Founder and former Hull City Apprentice, Philip Poole, will be in the United States Women’s National Team dugout this week as part of their coaching staff. He will be with the team as a Goalkeeper Coach in the build up to the game against England on Friday, February 13 2015 at MK Dons.
“It is a huge honour for me to represent my adopted nation,” said Poole. “I take a great deal of pride in working with our National Teams.”
Poole has worked with US Soccer for the past two-and-a-half years, and was on staff for the 2014 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup. Previously, he served as the Assistant Coach for the Puerto Rico Men’s National Team and went through World Cup qualifying with them in 2012-13.
“I have had some tremendously valuable experiences at the international level with US Soccer and the Puerto Rican Federation,” said Poole. “Each time I am involved in an international game, my knowledge base grows a little more. My goal is to continue to learn and grow as a young coach.”
Philip Poole was an Apprentice at Hull City for three years to 2000 and spent his formative years at Newcastle United. Following release at Hull City, Philip joined Wingate University in North Carolina on a four year scholarship from 2000 to 2004. Following graduation, Philip has built a superb reputation as one of the most respected goalkeeper coaches in the USA. He is currently the Executive Director at Lake Norman Soccer Club and also coaches for Charlotte Independence, a local professional team in North Carolina.
