USL Weekly Preview

After turning our attention to the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup during the week, we now look at the seven clients, who could feature across the USL Championship and USL League One this weekend.

Four players featured midweek, including Macauley King, Joe Holland, Johnny Fenwick and Lewis Hilton, the latter was the only one to win though.

Andrew Fox came off the bench for El Paso Locomotive last weekend to make his first appearance for the team since the end of March.

Each of the seven players, who could feature this weekend, gained scholarships through P4S, went on to have successful university careers - as well as graduating with a degree - and are now playing professionally in the United States.

USL Championship - Week 13

Indy Eleven vs Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC - June 2 (12:00am)

King played the full 90 minutes for Indy Eleven during their 1-0 defeat to Pittsburgh Riverhounds in the US Open Cup during the week.

The midfielder, in the last league game, was an unused substitute last weekend as Indy drew 0-0 with Nashville SC at home.

In the league though, the Eleven are unbeaten in four games, and sit eighth in the conference, while the Riverhounds haven't lost a game since the opening day of the 2019 season and sit 13th.

Pittsburgh drew 0-0 at home to Charlotte Independence in the last league fixture and have drawn their last four games in the USLC.

Birmingham Legion FC vs Tampa Bay Rowdies - June 2 (1:00am)

Midfielder Holland has started in both of Birmingham Legion's last two games, including the US Open Cup match with Louisville City midweek.

Holland played 63 minutes against Louisville, who scored a 90th-minute penalty to secure a 1-0 victory and a place in the Fourth Round.

Birmingham are winless in their last six games, in all competitions, and they also suffered a 1-0 defeat in their last league game, against Nashville.

Tampa Bay have the best defensive record in the USL Championship, they've only conceded four games in the 2019 season and have kept eight clean-sheets.

The Rowdies are top of the Eastern Conference and are yet to taste defeat this season - winning seven of their 12 games.

Saint Louis FC vs Memphis 901 FC - June 2 (1:30am)

Lewis Hilton played the full 90 minutes for Saint Louis during their victory in the US Open Cup over USL League One side Forward Madison.

The midfielder assisted the decisive third goal in the game and also played 90 minutes in their last league fixture, which saw Saint Louis draw 0-0 away to Louisville City, in front of nearly 10,000 spectators.

Hilton's side are currently sitting fifth in the conference and are unbeaten in their last six matches, while Memphis 901 are 14th and are unbeaten in their last three games.

Memphis were also victorious through the week, beating Hartford Athletic 4-0, and drew 2-2 with Swope Park Rangers in Week 12.

Tacoma Defiance vs El Paso Locomotive FC - June 2 (3:00am)

Fox came off the bench last weekend as El Paso Locomotive come from behind, in the first-half, to pick up a point away to Portland Timbers 2.

The defender hadn't featured for Locomotive since the end of March, but played the closing stages of the draw last Saturday.

El Paso are unbeaten in their last six league fixtures and sit eighth in the Western Conference, while Tacoma Defiance remain second-bottom.

Tacoma have struggled so far this season, picking up just two wins from their 14 games in 2019 and they have drawn their last three matches.

Reno 1868 FC vs Las Vegas Lights FC - June 2 (3:30am)

Will Seymore started and played the first 45 minutes for Reno 1868 as they drew 1-1 with Tacoma in their last league match.

Reno, who have had a two-week break in the USL Championship, have won three of their last six matches and are unbeaten in their previous three.

Seymore's side sit seventh in the Western Conference, while their Week 13 opponents, Las Vegas Lights, are 11th and are one point behind Rio Grande Valley.

Las Vegas are yet to win a game away from home in 2019. They've played six games on the road, lost five and drew one.

The Lights suffered a defeat to amateur side Orange County FC in the US Open Cup during the week and drew 0-0 with Tulsa Roughnecks in the league, last weekend.

Sacramento Republic FC vs San Antonio FC - June 2 (4:00am)

Fenwick played the full 90 minutes of San Antonio's defeat to Austin Bold in the US Open Cup during the week.

The defender was also an unused substitute in their last league fixture, which ended in a 3-1 victory for Rio Grande Valley.

San Antonio sit third-bottom in the Western Conference and haven't won a game in their last five, while Sacramento Republic are two places above them.

Sacramento beat Fresno FC in the US Open Cup during the week, but have lost back-to-back games in the USLC, conceding seven goals in the process.

USL League One - Week 10

Greenville Triumph SC vs South Georgia Tormenta FC - June 2 (1:00am)

Charlie Dennis was another PASS4Soccer client to play the full 90 minutes during South Georgia Tormenta's 0-0 draw at home to Lansing Ignite.

Tormenta have turned their form around in the last few weeks, they've won three of their last four matches and are sitting second in the USL League One table.

Dennis' side are just one point off league-leaders North Texas SC, while their Week 10 opponents, Greenville Triumph, are sitting fifth and lost their last match.

It was a narrow 1-0 defeat away to Chattanooga Red Wolves for Greenville, who have already faced Tormenta this season - this also ended in a 1-0 defeat for the Triumph.

Kick-off times are based on UK time and all USL Championship games and highlights, and USL League One highlights, will be available on their official YouTube channels.
