USL Weekly Preview - July 21
Another week, another round of fixtures to preview as there are seven PASS4Soccer clients, who could feature across the USL Championship and USL League One this weekend.
During the week, two players were in action and one got on the scoresheet too. Defender Andrew Fox scored the equaliser for El Paso Locomotive against San Antonio FC.
Midfielder Will Seymore was also named in the starting line-up, for Reno 1868, who beat OKC Energy to extend their winning streak to four games.
Each of the seven players, who could feature this weekend, gained scholarships through P4S, went on to have successful university careers - as well as graduating with a degree - and are now playing professionally in the United States.
USL Championship - Week 20
Indy Eleven vs Loudoun United FC - July 21 (12:00am)
Macauley King started and played 73 minutes for Indy Eleven, who lost 2-1 away to Hartford Athletic last weekend.
Hartford are bottom of the Eastern Conference and Indy were one of the form teams going into the game, but were edged out.
Despite their 10-game unbeaten run coming to an end, the Eleven sit third in the table, while Loudoun, their opponents this weekend, are 13th.
United lost 3-0 against North Carolina FC during the week and both Loudoun and Indy faced back in Week 15, where the latter came from behind to win 2-1 at Audi Field.
Tampa Bay Rowdies vs Saint Louis FC - July 21 (12:30am)
Lewis Hilton's Saint Louis FC side travel to Tampa Bay Rowdies in Week 20, a team, who have one of the best defensive records in the USL Championship.
The Rowdies have kept nine clean-sheets and have conceded only 12 goals in their 19 games this season and currently lead the Eastern Conference.
Hilton played the full 90 minutes for STLFC away to Charlotte Independence, his former side, last week, but, despite the midfielder providing the assist for his team's only goal, it was the hosts that won.
Saint Louis and the Rowdies faced back in Week 3, where the sides played out a 1-1 draw and Hilton also got the assist for STLFC's goal in that game.
Birmingham Legion FC vs Atlanta United 2 - July 21 (1:00am)
Birmingham Legion ended their winless streak as they defeated North Carolina FC 1-0 last weekend.
Midfielder Joe Holland wasn't named in the squad for the match, but the Legion are sitting 14th in the Eastern Conference after the win.
Atlanta are second-bottom in the conference and haven't won a game in their last 11, one of the worst runs in the USLC at the moment.
The biggest defeat of the season, for any team, came last weekend as ATLUTD2 were thrashed 8-1 away to New York Red Bulls II.
El Paso Locomotive FC vs Real Monarchs SLC - July 21 (2:30am)
El Paso were one of 10 sides in action during the week, but they lost 3-1 at home to San Antonio FC.
Defender Fox started and played the full 90 minutes at the back for Locomotive and also scored their only goal of the game.
The ball broke to Fox in the penalty area and the defender swiped home to equalise during the first-half of the game.
El Paso are sixth in the Western Conference, but are winless in their last five games. Real Monarchs are one place below in seventh and are currently one of the form teams.
They have won five straight matches and have scored 16 goals in that time, including the 5-0 victory at home to Tacoma Defiance last weekend.
LA Galaxy II vs Reno 1868 FC - July 21 (3:00am)
Expect goals in this one as, just five weeks ago, the two sides scored six goals between them as Reno 1868 won 4-2 at Greater Nevada Field.
In Reno's last match, Will Seymore started and played the full game and his side staged a remarkable second-half comeback, coming from two goals down to win 3-2 against OKC Energy.
Reno are third in the Western Conference, just three points off leaders Phoenix Rising, and they have also won their last four matches.
The Galaxy are 13th and are unbeaten in their last three games. They drew 2-2 away to Las Vegas Lights two weeks ago.
Orange County SC vs San Antonio FC - July 21 (3:00am)
Two of our clients' teams went head-to-head during the week, but defender Johnny Fenwick was an unused substitute during the game.
San Antonio took away all three points after beating El Paso Locomotive 3-1 at Southwest University Park midweek.
SAFC are 11th in the Western Conference and are unbeaten in their last three games, picking up seven points from a possible nine.
Meanwhile, Orange County SC are 14th and have won just one of their last six games. They conceded a stoppage-time goal and lost 3-2 away to Austin Bold last weekend. San Antonio and OCSC faced back in Week 10 and drew 0-0.
USL League One - Week 17
North Texas SC vs South Georgia Tormenta FC - July 21 (12:00am)
Charlie Dennis started for South Georgia Tormenta last weekend and played the full 90 minutes as they lost 3-0 away to Toronto FC II.
Tormenta have lost back-to-back games in USL League One, but remain second in the table, eight points behind their opponents this weekend.
North Texas SC are unbeaten in their last four games and have won three of those games, including the 2-0 victory away to Richmond Kickers last weekend.
